Perimenopause

Perimenopause is the multi-year window before the final menstrual period, during which ovarian hormone production becomes irregular. Cycles change, and vasomotor and other symptoms often appear. It typically begins in a woman's 40s and lasts around 4 years on average, though there is wide individual variation.
